Parkinson's Care

Specialized Partnership

Living with Parkinson’s requires a specialized partnership that understands the rhythm of care to maintain your mobility and your independence.

Our care is built around the "on-off" cycles of your day, providing the physical support and expert oversight necessary to reduce frustration and physical strain, allowing you to focus on living well.

In our model, we prioritize two things: Safety and Timing. By providing expert assistance with gait and transfers, we significantly reduce the risk of falls. Simultaneously, we manage the strict medication schedules that are essential for symptom control. Our caregivers act as your "mobility partners," anticipating your needs and adjusting the pace of the day to match your energy and physical capabilities.

What is Parkinson's Care?

Parkinson’s Care is our specialized, movement-focused support system. It is designed to address the unique motor and non-motor symptoms of the condition through a "whole person" lens.

ACTIVITIES OF Cognitive Care

Precise Medication Timing Oversight: Oversight to ensure medications are taken at the exact intervals required to maintain optimal symptom control.

Fall Prevention: Providing steady, "at-the-elbow" assistance during walking to manage freezing episodes and postural instability.

Safe Transfer Assistance: Expert support when moving from bed to chair or standing, utilizing techniques that minimize physical strain for both the client and caregiver.

Gentle Movement & Stretching: Assisting with prescribed daily exercises to help maintain flexibility, range of motion, and muscle strength.

ADL Adaptation: Helping with daily tasks like dressing (managing buttons/zips) or grooming in a way that accommodates tremors and fosters independence.

Nutritional & Mealtime Oversight: Providing patient, focused support during mealtimes to ensure safety and proper nutrition if swallowing difficulties arise.

Fine Motor Assistance: Helping with the "small tasks" of daily life, such as using a phone, writing, or handling household items, to reduce frustration.

Sleep & Rest Rhythm: Managing evening routines and overnight positioning to help alleviate the sleep disturbances often associated with Parkinson’s.

Frequently Asked Questions

Mobility is a core priority. Our caregivers are trained in "Steady-Hand" assistance, helping with safe transfers and walking. In the event of "freezing" (a temporary inability to move), our caregivers use Compassionate Rhythms—auditory or visual cues—to help your loved one regain their stride. We also perform daily "House Cleaning" to ensure the home is optimized for walkers or wheelchairs, minimizing fall risks.

Timing is everything with Parkinson’s. Our caregivers provide medication reminders reminding your loved one to take their doses at the exact intervals prescribed by their neurologist. We also monitor for "on/off" periods—times when medication is working well versus when symptoms return—and document these patterns in the Care Plan Binder for your medical team to review.

Absolutely. As motor skills change, daily tasks like buttoning a shirt, shaving, or bathing can become frustrating. Our caregivers provide Dignified Assistance, stepping in to help with these intimate tasks while encouraging your loved one to do as much as they comfortably can to preserve their sense of Independence.

Parkinson’s affects more than just movement. Our "whole person" lens includes:

Communication Encouragement: Engaging in intentional conversation to practice vocal strength and facial expression.

Emotional Resilience: Providing companionship to navigate the depression or anxiety that often accompanies the condition.

Sleep Hygiene: Assisting with nighttime routines to manage the sleep disruptions common in Parkinson’s.
